Wraith and Phantom III Hydraulic Jack Testing

Over many years we have carried out repairs and overhaul of hydraulic jacks on R-R motor cars.
The jack assembly is always very tricky as the precision parts are very susceptible to corrosion and with the slightest imperfection they will always be lazy to retract or even move at all.

Increasingly we have been producing new components, we are able to offer complete new jacks.

The photo illustrates our test rig assembly to allow each new or refurbished jack or pump to be fully tested before return to the customer or to stock.

Adventures.

We are very lucky to share adventures with many customers and their cars, I never really know what wonderful photos and stories might greet me as my computer and e.mail come alive each morning. 

The following photos have been sent by a gentleman who has always been particularly pleasant to correspond and work with. 

We have been working on the shock dampers and soon to overhaul the steering box of this Derby Bentley, both vital components for this type of motoring!

I give the introduction in the gentleman's own words, such spirit is infectious!

"You are right, the car has become a "family member“. During the last decade of intensive use especially in the alps in Bavaria, Austria, Italy and Switzerland my wife and myself had a lot of fun with friends driving prewar cars (most of them British ones!).

The picture was taken on the famous Großglockner Hochalpenstraße in Austria in June, after weeks of bad weather conditions. We had the first day with the sun shining for us! But it was very cold!!!"

Marles Steering Box Overhaul

The following photos show the continued stages of work on a Marles type of steering box. This box is typically fitted to late Derby Bentleys and Rolls-Royce 25/30 As well as the post war cars.

All cars need regular servicing, we would like to offer three levels of service to suit individual requirements.
Servicing is performed by our team of very experienced Rolls-Royce and Bentley specialists.

S1 Recommended annually or every 5000 miles
An extensive inspection of your car and adjustments made in the following areas: coachwork, mechanical and electrical. Checks and adjustments are followed by a road test. Depending on the model of car there are approximately 85 items in the service schedule which are checked.
Small horsepower: £920     Now £736: SAVE £184
Large horsepower: £1200   Now £960: SAVE £240

S2 Recommended every two years or 10,000 miles
The S2 service includes all the details of the S1 service, with attention given to the additional areas of engine tuning and maintenance, and clutch and suspension.
Small horsepower: £1840   Now £1472: SAVE £368
Large horsepower: £2300   Now £1840: SAVE £460

S3 Recommended every three years or 20,000 miles, or for any car that is being recommissioned after long term storage
A full comprehensive inspection of your car including all details from S1 and S2 services with the added benefit of the following: repacking hub bearings with grease, cleaning and re-greasing all road springs, and an in-depth inspection of the braking system and fuel system.

Should you wish, we can arrange for your car to be collected and returned to you at an additional cost.
